Apex’s team of experienced clinicians provide medication management for most mental health disorders. Medication management services are conducted by one of our experienced & skilled
​ Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) who is specifically trained and board certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). In accordance with Florida regulations, our APRNs are either licensed for full autonomous practice or maintain a collaborative practice protocol with a psychiatrist. We believe in offering cutting edge options for our clients; and we currently offer innovative treatments such as ketamine for Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD) and PTSD. 

Medication
​Management and telemedicine 

We perform 60 minute initial psychiatric evaluations to determine if your mental health symptoms could benefit from medications capable of affecting the mind, emotions, and behavior.
If medications are prescribed, clients will be seen for 20 minutes  every 1 to 3 months for continued medication management and ongoing evaluation. 
  Although medications can be highly effective in alleviating many mental health disorder symptoms, engaging simultaneously in therapy is highly recommended for most psychiatric illnesses. Mr. Durrance's personal  philosophy is "Medications treat the symptoms, but therapy treats the cause. If you address both simultaneously, that is when you will Thrive." Once established, a client can utilize the convenience of telemedicine appointments. 

Ketamine Treatments

​At Apex, we believe in utilizing all available treatment options including newer medications and modalities of treatment. That is why in 2019, we chose to start utilizing Ketamine Therapy for our clients. Being the region's most experienced clinic with ketamine treatments, our experienced team has successfully treated hundreds of clients with great success. Approximately 1/3 of all people with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) meet the criteria for Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD) and often fail to respond to traditional therapies alone. The effects of Ketamine in depression and TRD are well established and based on extensive clinical research over more than 20 years. Ketamine has also been used successfully for treating other psychiatric conditions such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Panic Disorder.
