Clinical Team
Scott Durrance, APRN is a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience caring for the mentally ill in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. He first discovered his love for mental health treatment while working as a psychiatric technician at a group home for teenage boys. This led him to seek a career in nursing and ultimately specializing in mental health. Since 2011, he has served as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in both the military and civilian sectors. Mr. Durrance deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Marine Corps rifleman in 2003 and also served as a Navy Nurse Corps officer. Although his joints resist sometimes, his favorite pastime is strength training. His passion for improving the treatment outcomes of veteran and community mental health populations is a prime focus of his practice. His special interests include utilizing novel treatment options for treatment-resistant depression and promoting increased usage of long-acting injectable antipsychotics for schizophrenic and Bipolar populations. In 2018, he and his wife Abby decided to form Apex Psychiatric Services, LLC because they wanted to be able to directly influence every aspect of a client's experience with the mental health services provided. This experience starts from the time you first contact our office and lasts until you see the clinician and walk out the door. You WILL be greeted with a smile and made to feel the difference of a team that pushes you to “Thrive.”
